- What
is
- Hydrotherapy?
|
- Hydrotherapy
is exercise in water that is heated to 33-35ºC to help people
regain or maintain physical function and strength. It also has positive
psychological, physiological and social benefits.
|
|
Hydrotherapy
- mobilises joints and
strengthens muscles
- improves general physical
fitness, balance and
co-ordination
- promotes
cardiovascular fitness.
Why is the Water
33-35ºC?
The
water is set at this steady temperature to:
- relieve pain
- reduce
anxiety
- relax taut muscles
- enable damaged joints to
move more freely
- improve circulation
- prevent
people getting chilled
- help
people to enjoy the healing experience.
